Facebook has conducted research into how various machine learning algorithms could be integrated into a mapping workflow to help human mappers edit and validate faster.

We would like to share our initial results and workflow of how one could use AI to assist people in making more accurate maps by detecting roads from satellite imagery. We have started our import process here.

Validation is supported by OSM community tools and standards to ensure contributed data is high quality. We would like to share our use cases for OSM data for product, connectivity and disaster response.
