Idea: describe how the WikiWar military history animation project uses OpenHistoricalMap (OHM) to vastly improve user engagement. Example: Battle of Gettysburg displayed on time-appropriate OHM map as opposed to modern OSM map (which includes modern distractions like Gettysburg Cyclorama) Contributors can improve 3 projects at once! WikiWar, OHM, OSM. In 20 minutes, I will give a quick overview of the WikiWar project, our involvement with OHM (with quick description of OHM for those unfamiliar), and show examples of battlefield animations using OHM historically-accurate basemaps.
